Phillip G. Young, Jr., joins firm January 1, 2010. Ed Walker retires.
NASHVILLE, TN – Garfinkle, McLemore & Walker, PLLC, announced that Phillip G. Young, Jr., of Columbia, Tennessee, will be joining the firm on January 1, 2010. Mr. Young will replace Edwin M. Walker, a founding member of the firm, who is retiring after more than 30 years of practice.
The firm’s new name will be Garfinkle, McLemore & Young, PLLC (GMY Law). It will have offices in Nashville and Columbia, Tennessee.
“Phillip’s experience and expertise with business bankruptcy reorganization, creditors’ and debtors’ rights, and complex business litigation will enhance our insolvency and restructuring team,” said Robert Garfinkle, the firm’s managing member. “This will be especially valuable during this challenging economic environment.”
Mr. Young obtained his J.D. from the Vanderbilt School of Law in 2000. He practiced at the law firm of Bass, Berry & Sims from September 2000 until August 2008, when he opened his own practice in his hometown of Columbia, Tennessee. Mr. Young was recently named one of “Mid-South’s Rising Stars” by Mid-South Super Lawyers. He serves on the board of directors of the Columbia Main Street Corporation.
